Team Members Boost Research Skills at FLAVOURsome Advanced Training School

Members of our research lab recently participated in the 1st FLAVOURsome Advanced Training School, held from June 3 to 6 at Wageningen University and Research in the Netherlands.

Carlos Guerreiro, one of our dedicated PhD student, was selected to attend as a trainee, while Susana Soares, our group leader and FLAVOURsome Action Chair, was invited to join the event as a trainer.

The training school focused on the advanced topic of “Tongue-on-chip 2.0: Taste Receptors and Other Oral Components Involved in Flavour Perception,” offering an invaluable opportunity for both to enhance their expertise in flavour science.

Carlos gained hands-on experience with the latest 'tongue-on-chip' technology, while Susana contributed with her knowledge as a trainer, engaging in deep discussions about the integration of taste receptors and oral components in flavour perception. Their participation not only enriched their own research skills but also opened doors for future collaboration and innovation within our lab.

This experience underscores our commitment to staying at the forefront of flavour research and fostering connections that drive scientific progress.

A warm thank you to Maarten Jongsma, the local organizer and his team, who welcome our lab members at Wageningen, making their participation an amazing experience.
