Our PhD student, Catarina Ribeiro, won the first prize at the DocTalent4EU Hackathon.

Catarina Ribeiro, one of our PhD students in Sustainable Chemistry at FCUP, won the DocTalent4EU Hackathon, a competition for doctoral students from European universities. She was selected among 75 candidates to represent the University of Porto at the University of Limerick, Ireland, for the DocTalent4EU Summer School, a project aimed at improving doctoral training and career prospects.

Catarina joined a team of six doctoral students from various European institutions to develop an application supporting mental health and well-being, featuring mood tracking, virtual therapy sessions, and self-help resources based on credible psychological research. Their project won first prize. "I learned a lot and hope to apply this knowledge to my PhD and future professional life," said Catarina, who is developing her thesis at the Associated Laboratory for Green Chemistry (LAQV-REQUIMTE).
